Trabuco Tech was started by Jason Chavannes, an Orange County resident software expert with over 20 years of experience.
Other than a few years working at In-N-Out Burger, Jason started his career providing computer support for small businesses while in high school. He then got a degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2009. While in college he provided IT services for local businesses, from building websites to wiring warehouses with computer networks.gn n n He also had a summer internship in Los Angeles managing accounting software installations for customers including the Jim Henson Company.
After college Jason focused on web development, building over 80 websites in 3 years as a freelance web developer. He then moved to San Francisco in 2012 and worked at Credit Karma, which at the time was a startup with only 35 employees. At Credit Karma Jason got to wear many hats, from building new back-end data systems to managing the deployment team which was responsible for releasing updates to millions of users.
After years of being interested in bitcoin, in 2017 Jason decided to quit his job and start working on a cryptocurrency project. He launched Memo, a social network built on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain. Memo initially gained popularity in the cryptocurrency community and was used by thousands of users, including Gavin Andresen, the former lead developer of Bitcoin. In 2018 Jason was a speaker at the CoinGeek Week bitcoin conference in London.
Since then Jason has continued to work on Memo while taking time for other aspects of life. In 2021, he moved from San Francisco and made Orange County his new home.
In 2024 Jason decided to start Trabuco Tech to help local businesses with their technology needs. He is excited to bring his 20 years of expertise to the community and help businesses grow. Trabuco Tech offers a full suite of technology services for small to medium-sized businesses.
